Introduction
Since completing her MPA in
healthcare policy, Amanda has been working in the field
of healthcare policy, serving as Program Specialist to Associate Director at the Philadelphia VA Medical Center. Prior to her graduate work in
healthcare policy, Amanda worked for a large, national insurance
company in their benefits management department. She coordinated
and processed client and employee health insurance membership
accounts. This work experience in the
insurance industry acted as a catalyst for her graduate work at the University of Delaware.
As a second year graduate student, Amanda took
on many projects and had many experiences in healthcare policy. For two
years, Amanda worked on projects relating to health insurance
assessments, from the industry and statewide perspectives,
as well as those of the small employer and the uninsured.
She complemented her coursework and research with
practical experience while interning at the Wilmington Veteran’s
Affairs Medical Center. As a managerial intern, Amanda developed
and managed an assessment project regarding their staffing
procedures.
