Introduction
While I was an MPA student specializing in State and Local
Management, I also took courses in Community Development.
I was involved in community and political activities while
completing my degree. Along with fellow classmates, I organized
a panel discussion on the War in Iraq in spring 2003. I assisted
in Senator David Sokola's re-election to the Delaware General
Assembly in 2002, and in 2004 helped Kevin Voncka Ph.D.
candidate in Urban Affairs and Public Policy in our programto
become the youngest member ever elected to, and first student
to serve on, the Newark (Del.) City Council. I also worked
on diversity issues in our program through my position as
Urban Affairs Student Association Vice-President. I gained
experiences in my assistantships while at the University,
working on community affairs, state planning, and as a Legislative
Fellow in the Delaware General Assembly. I look forward to
a challenging and enjoyable career in public service.
