Introduction
Growing up in numerous small communities, I developed a strong
interest in the functioning of local governments. While pursuing
a Bachelor's degree in Political Science at the University
of Pittsburgh this interest continued to grow. My interest
in the functioning of locall governments lead me to enroll
in the University of Delaware's MPA program. Through this
program I greatly enhanced my knowledge of public policy issues
and methods.
I was also fortunate enough to be a research assistant with
the Institute for Public Administration during my graduate
studies. This opportunity allowed me to apply classroom knowledge
to real-world projects and developed professional skills that
only come with field experience. Working with both the IPA
and Delaware's Office of State Planning Coordination, I helped
to complete numerous planning projects. I am currently employed
as a Limited-Term Researcher with the Institute for Public
Administration. I hope to continue to work with state and
local governments on planning, governance, and management
projects as I embark on my career in the public sector.
