Group Exercises & IcebreakersTwo Truths and a Lie

Objective

This activity can be used with groups of all ages.  It allows people who don’t know each other to learn more than just one another’s name or occupation.

Time: 7-20 Minutes (depending on discussion and group size)

Materials:
Index cards (one for each person)
Pens/pencils (one for each person)

  • Have participants write their names at the top of the card they were given and write three statements about themselves, two that are true and one that is false.
  • Once they have written their two truths and a lie have participants take turns reading their statements.
  • After each participant reads their statements, ask the other participants if they can figure out which of the statements is the lie.
