As a planner with the Institute for Public Administration, William DeCoursey is responsible for providing a wide range of project management, technical assistance, and research support to IPA staff and state and local government officials. Mr. DeCoursey’s primary expertise involves working with IPA’s Planning Services group, assisting state and local governments in preparing comprehensive development plans, transportation planning, and research on a variety of planning-related topics. Recent projects have included working with Bethany Beach, Millsboro, and the Delaware Department of Transportation.
Mr. DeCoursey is a graduate of the University of Delaware’s MPA program, where he specialized in state and local government management. During his graduate studies, he earned the Director’s Citation and was inducted into the Pi Alpha Alpha National Honor Society of Public Affairs and Administration.
Recent projects include work on comprehensive plans for Dewey Beach, Blades, and Delaware City, Del., as well as IPA’s new Healthy/Walkable Communities initiative and work on Transit-Oriented Development.
