Mark’s responsibilities involve internal design and editorial support (websites and printed communication) as well as consulting with IPA clients as an e-government resource. Mark helped launch and acts as convener for the Delaware Municipal Web Developers Group, an association of statewide municipal staff members (responsible for their respective municipal or county website) who meet quarterly for networking, support, and education on website development. He is also available to local municipalities for general website development consultation or limited specific training. Occasionally, Mark is called on to advise IPA-affiliated students on electronic portfolio preparation, report and presentation formatting, and written communication.
With 30 years of design experience, Mark Deshon is skilled in a variety of visual design/
communication media, including print, web, presentation, and display. Trained in traditional production tools and processes, he has been working almost exclusively with electronic media since the late 1980s. Mark has significant experience in Macintosh-platform design tools (including Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, QuarkXPress, Adobe Dreamweaver, Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft PowerPoint) and nominal experience with other software. Mark has a better than average working knowledge of effective written communication as well.
Prior to joining the IPA staff, Mark worked for 20 years as a graphic designer/art director for the University’s world-renowned Center for Composite Materials, an interdisciplinary research and education center within the University of Delaware College of Engineering.
