Course Description: This course offers teacher candidates an opportunity to enhance their understanding of the fundamental content and concepts in the core social studies subjects of civics and economics as they relate to instruction in grades K-8. While the focus is developing an understanding of the content in the two subject areas, attention will also be given to how the content and concepts in these two subject areas might be taught in K-8 classrooms.
