IPA plays an integral role in employing “The Delaware Model,” as it seeks to integrate the practice of public administration and the curricula of the University of Delaware’s School of Urban Affairs and Policy (SUAPP), through emphasis on public service, applied research, and professional development of staff, students, and practitioners alike.
IPA’s cutting-edge research of public policy issues not only addresses the needs of Delaware’s public agencies and civic leaders, but also provides a valuable training mechanism for full-time undergraduate and graduate students.
Practitioners and academics trained and educated in various specializations within the field of public administration work with and train students seeking public policy or administration degrees to be responsive and supportive of area state and local governments, nonprofits, and private-sector organizations.
