broadband project highlightedIPA's broadband project efforts were highlighted in the second issue of a University of Delaware magazine that focuses on southern Delaware—Southern UDelaware. The article, written by project team member Mark Deshon, talked about the importance of broadband as a driver of economic development here in Delaware, particularly in Sussex County.
PI Doug Tuttle, who leads the broadband project team of IPA staff and students, is quoted a couple times in the article. “This is an exciting project,” said Tuttle. “In terms of economic importance, the development of a national broadband-access system today has been likened to the creation of the interstate highway network during the mid-20th century. It is clearly evident how little of our state is directly served by the interstate highway system, and the same sort of regionalization of access need not exist with respect to broadband infrastructure.”
