IPA works with public, private, and nonprofit entities to plan for economic-development action locally and regionally. The focus of these activities is promoting long-run community-wealth generation to weather economic downturns and shifts. IPA’s services include facilitating the identification of strategic issues and goals, developing workable recommendations and policies, and drafting cohesive action plans for economic development.
From 2005 through 2006, IPA partnered with the Delaware Economic Development Office (DEDO) to lead the process of crafting Delaware’s Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS). This entailed forming several committees of business, community, and government representatives and working with them to develop goals, recommendations, and strategies aimed at enhancing Delaware’s economic vitality. More recently, IPA has worked with the Sussex Economic Development Action Committee (SEDAC) to develop its action plan for economic growth in Sussex County.
