Local E-Government News
Milton Launches Municipal Website
Congratulations to the Town of Milton for its e-government efforts that have culminated in the recent launching of its website, www.ci.milton.de.us. It is a good, new example of a cleanly designed, easy-to-use portal for municipal information/interaction and should serve the town well.
Other Notable Municipal Sites
Other good site design examples within Delaware are Dover, Laurel, Georgetown, and Smyrna. You can check out all active municipal and county websites in Delaware by accessing DLLG’s online directory at www.ipa.udel.edu/localgovt/dllg.
IPA Helps Initiate Statewide Municipal Web Developers Group
Mark Deshon, IPA policy specialist and webmaster, has organized a group of municipal web developers (those either with oversight of or day-to-day responsibility for maintaining a site) to meet a few times a year for discussion, support, and education on website development and best practices in e-government. Twenty municipalities and one county (Sussex) are currently represented. Local government website status can be accessed at www.ipa.udel.edu/localgovt/training/web.
