Sarah is a first year M.A. student concentrating in Urban and Regional Planning and is especially interested in environmental planning and sustainable development. In May 2009 she received a B.S. in Natural Resource Management with minors in Landscape Horticulture and Resource Economics from the University of Delaware.
Sarah grew up in the rapidly urbanizing Washington, D.C., metro area and became interested in environmental problems at a young age. Through her undergraduate studies, she became interested in land use and how we can mitigate our impact on the environment through planning and sustainable development. In 2007 she worked on a research project that surveyed homeowners in order to determine benefit estimates on preservation and conservation practices. During her senior year, Sarah conducted a senior thesis on the effectiveness of spent mushroom substrate on landscape-plant establishment. She currently works as a Research Assistant for the Institute for Public Administration in the Water Resources Agency.
