Eileen is a first-year Master of Public Administration student studying Urban Affairs and Public Policy with a concentration in Transportation Policy at the University of Delaware. She graduated in 2010 from Tulane University in New Orleans with a BA in Political Economy and minors in Architecture and Urban Studies. She found this academic combination particularly cohesive and led her to pursue the master’s at Delaware.
Before studying at Delaware, she interned with 1) the Historic District Landmarks Commission in New Orleans, helping them alleviate a backlog of permitting violations in historic districts with site research and field work, and 2) with 1000 Friends of Florida—a smart-growth organization—researching transportation funding for the state of Florida. Currently, she is researching low-cost intercity bus travel in the Northeast for the Institute for Public Administration. After graduating, she hopes to work at the federal level on transit policy and is especially interested in high-speed rail and intercity rail linkages.
