I have been a life-long resident of the State of Delaware and look forward to pursuing a career in public service in the first state. Since a very young age I have been both fascinated and intrigued by the worthwhile pursuit of the public’s interest. After high school, I enrolled in the University of Delaware, pursuing a degree in International Relations. While I wish my career to take a more local focus, one of my most beloved hobbies is national and international politics and policy. As a radio reporter, I was able to meet and question luminaries of the political world including Presidents Bush, Rudolph Giuliani, Newt Gingrich, Tom Ridge, and John Glenn. It also gave me the distinct privilege to meet and interact with Delaware lawmakers including Governor Ruth Ann Minner, Lt. Governor John Carney, U.S. Senator Tom Carper (D-Del.), County Executive Chris Coons, and a host of other state and local lawmakers.
My current work within the Institute of Public Administration has placed me with an off-campus agency working specifically on their public outreach strategies. I believe government’s communication with the public is of paramount importance to a successful public policy. Sound and honest public communications should be embraced along with other “open-government” initiatives to improve the work law and policy makers engage in on a daily basis.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with friends and family, writing, fine dining, American antiques, and researching Delaware history. I am currently engaged in a personal project to photograph and document my visits to every one of Delaware's 57 municipalities and historically registered places.
