Rachael completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Delaware.  She received a B.S. in Leadership.  She finished her undergraduate degree in Feburary 2008, a semester early, and began her graduate studies.  She is currently pursuing her masters degree in Urban Affairs and Public Policy with a concentration in Urban and Regional Planning.  From a young age, Rachael had an interest in design and while studying Leadership she began to explore how she could take a lifelong passion and combine it with the values and goals she learned as an undergraduate student.  She wanted to find a way to have a positive impact while still being creative, and so her interest in planning and alternative development and design began.

As an undergrad, Rachael completed an independent study under New Castle County Councilwomen and University of Delaware Professor Stephanie McClellan, in which she studied and analyzed various green-building policies and techniques, such as the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED and the Sierra Club’s CoolCities programs.  During her senior year, she worked on a UNIDEL grant, as a Public Service Fellow, studying the environmental policies of local governments with regard to climate-change mitigation as well as studying the influence those local governments are having on other localities, state, and federal governments.

In her first semester as a graduate student, she primarily worked on a fiscal-impact study for new development within Delaware with Troy Mix.
