Todd is a first-year Ph.D. student in Urban Affairs and Public Policy.  He graduated from the Joint Master of Social Work program in 2007 at North Carolina A&T State University and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Afterwards, he worked on a number of political campaigns in Iowa and North Carolina.  His work generated a fascination in the intersection of policy and politics, and creating politically viable policies that address urban social problems.  His research interests include transit, labor politics, economic development, and smart growth.
