Stephanie is a second-year graduate student pursuing a Master of Public Administration degree. She graduated from University of Delaware in May 2009 with a B.A. in Psychology and Women’s Studies. During her undergraduate career, Stephanie studied various components of community health, including reproductive health, the psychology of health and political structures influencing health policy. In 2009 she interned with Planned Parenthood of Delaware in the Public Affairs department to further explore these issues.
Following graduation, Stephanie was involved with Public Allies, a nationally recognized AmeriCorps program affiliated with the University of Delaware’s Center for Community Service and Research for ten months. Within this program, she was working at the American Civil Liberties Union of Delaware as a Program Assistant. She organized three continuing legal-education programs for the legal community, co-coordinated the ACLU of Delaware’s annual conference on school discipline, arranged and contributed to ACLU of Delaware’s quarterly newsletter, developed the organization’s website, and added social media components.
This past summer Stephanie interned with Westside Family Healthcare, the largest nonprofit community health organization in Delaware. Her main project was assisting with the planning of August National Health Center Week activities and events, ranging from a ribbon-cutting ceremony to media promotion to the engagement of elected officials and supporters. She also took the lead on the development and implementation of a social media policy and plan for Westside. Other activities included assisting in the development of Westside’s 2011 Annual Report to be published in the Wilmington-area's News Journal, which has a circulation of over 100,000; assisting with implementation of an outreach plan for Kent and Sussex Counties, including a new population of seasonal and migrant farm workers; and working on fundraising activities.
She hopes to combine her interests in health policy, policy development, social media, and program planning. During her first year, she worked a public administration fellow with the Institute for Public Administration (IPA) for the Women’s Leadership Development Program and Conflict Resolution Program assisting in the coordination and creation of training workshops for women in public service and the public. Earlier this year Stephanie was working on IPA’s Senior Center Grant-In-Aid Project. As of January 2012, she is working as a Legislative Fellow in the Delaware General Assembly until June 2012.

YouTube Video - “Dover Grand Opening”
This is a piece of work I developed for Westside Family Healthcare’s social media outreach. It highlights the grand opening of Westside's new clinical location in Dover, Del. I filmed it with a flipcam and edited it in iMovies.
