Cimone is a Master of Public Administration candidate in the School of Public Policy & Administration, concentrating in Public Finance. She graduated from Spelman College in May 2011, where she received her BA in Economics. Throughout her undergrad career, Cimone was actively involved in undergrad research with the No Child Left Behind Act and its monetary allocations to Title I schools. The research measured a public school’s performance by the amount of funds allocated per pupil.

Most of Cimone's volunteer work was with underprivileged African-American females in programs like Poised Pretty in Pink, Girls Scouts, and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc.'s G.E.M.S. (Growing and Empowering Myself Successfully) Program, where she mentored girls and pushed them toward higher education regardless of the cost, field of study, or their race or gender.

Cimone also served as an intern with the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs as a Management Analyst for two years. There she conducted analyses and drafted written findings and recommendations of issues and problems and assisted in Labor Relations research and reports to conduct HR Lunch and Learns. Currently she is a Public Administration Fellow in IPA's Conflict Resolution Program and Women’s Leadership Development Program.
