Mandy is concentrating in Urban and Regional Planning, with a focus on comprehensive land-use planning and agricultural and open-space preservation. Her interests are primarily focused on communities experiencing suburban sprawl. Mandy grew up on a farm in a small town in eastern Pennsylvania and studied Plant Science at the University of Delaware. Her secondary interests, stemming from her work at the Delaware Center for Horticulture, also include community development by improving the quality of life in troubled urban neighborhoods through citizen involvement.
Mandy is anxious to work with local governments to help them deal with land-use issues. She enjoys communicating with the public, explaining the details of plans, and welcoming input from citizens. She is very interested in growth management and how to minimize the environmental impacts of development.
