IntroductionArthur is a second-year graduate student, pursuing a Master of Public Administration degree. He graduated from the University of Delaware in 2010 with a B.A. in History and a Political Science minor. During his time as an undergraduate at the University of Delaware, Arthur became actively involved in the local bicycling community, which resulted in an increased awareness and interest for the needs of non-automotive transportation. Internships at the Delaware Department of Transportation and the City of Newark helped Arthur to further develop a passion for transportation policy.
As a first-year graduate student, Arthur had the opportunity to work as a Research Assistant on the Institute for Public Administration’s Integrated Transportation Management Systems (ITMS) project. The ITMS project gave Arthur the opportunity to gain valuable experience in policy research, technical report writing and event planning. During his first year, Arthur also interned with DelDOT’s Transportation Trust Fund Task Force. Assignments with key DelDOT personnel and task force members gave Arthur valuable insights into how the state’s transportation system is financed.
Arthur’s interests include any type of public policy that promotes the use of multimodal transportation and promotes healthier communities.
