 Civic Education
Recognizing that the future health of the democratic process rests in the ability of our nations youth to understand and make a commitment to meaningful civic participation, the Institute for Public Administration in concert with Delaware's Office of the Secretary of State established "The Democracy Project: A Seminar for Teachers." Because schools have a tremendous impact on youth, this seminar was developed to help teachers explore innovative ways to engage young people in the democratic process.
The Democracy Project activities have expanded (the seminar is the Institute for Teachers) and now include a program that engages middle school students (Mock Constitutional Convention), lesson plans, and other civic education resources for teachers.
