IPA
manages two instrumental programs that provide meaningful work experiences
for students within the urban affairs and public policy sphere.
The Legislative Fellows Program,
managed by IPA and the College
of Human Services, Education & Public Policy, celebrated
its 20th program year in 2002. Through non-partisan, in-depth research,
Fellows assist Delaware General Assembly legislators in addressing
critical issues facing the state. In recent years, Fellows have
worked on areas as diverse as land-use planning, education reform,
and juvenile justice.
IPA administers the Internship
Program of the School
of Urban Affairs & Public Policy, which is a paid work experience
that has academic value for a student's program of study. Working
under the guidance of established professionals, interns have an
opportunity to apply the skills and theory they have learned in
an academic setting to real-world problems.
