IPA is committed to providing professional development opportunities
for its students and regional clients. As part of their academic
experience, students have the opportunity to participate in the
Legislative Fellows Program
and strengthen their employment potential through paid internships.
Because IPA serves such a wide range of clients, it also offers
policy forums, seminars, and training
programs to improve the competencies of state and local
government leaders and community advocates.

Formal programs include:
Examples of individual training offerings include a leadership
program for women business owners, land-use planning, geographic
information systems (GIS),
finance and fiscal administration, human resource management,
quality improvement, and customer service.
