Project WET K-12
Project WET is an interdisciplinary national water education program intended to supplement an educator's existing curriculum. Its goal is to facilitate and promote the awareness, appreciation, knowledge, and stewardship of water resources through the dissemination of classroom-ready teaching aids. K-12 teachers can obtain the guides by attending inservice workshops (2.5 credits). For information, contact Nancy Rolli at 302-739-4506 or nrolli@dnrec.state.de.us.

“What in the World” Career Day
The “What in the World” program is offered statewide and is geared toward students from third through twelfth grades. Volunteers, from a variety of occupations, use this time to explain their career while stressing the importance of math, science, and/or technology. Each one of the volunteers brings a mystery object to show the children. With the help of a mystery object, IPA staff and students explain the education and training required for jobs in the water-resources field and encourage students to continue to study and work hard in their math, science, and technology classes. WRA has been involved with the “What in the World” program in New Castle County for several years. IPA Assistant Policy Scientist Martha Corrozi Narvaez has been attending the schools on behalf of WRA since 2005.

University of Delaware Ag Day
Ag Day is an annual community event on the University’s Newark campus that brings agriculture and natural resources to life for the approximately 3,000 people who attend. Through educational exhibits, tours, and activities, UD exhibitors educate everyone, from schoolchildren to homeowners, senior citizens to teenagers, about the world of agriculture and natural resources. WRA provides a display that informs participants about its water projects and the importance of water as a natural resource.

Newark Community Day
Newark Community Day offers the opportunity for people of the greater Newark area to learn about the diverse organizations within and around Newark. Each year WRA participates in this event, showcasing its most current projects.
